Does anyone know if I can safely use the charger for my Kindle to charge my 9930? I left my 9930 charger at the office -- doh!

    It's output says 4.9v, 0.85A....

    Thanks

Well the USB charger says 5V at 750mA so it should work.

Its always been my understanding that all USB cables of the same size deliver the same voltage. I believe that it is a convention of the USB standard.

The Playbook travel charges is what I use. Complete charge in 90 minutes

They "normally" run at 5V but I'd always check the plug to make sure what the output voltage and amperage is.

All USB cables connected to a powered USB port will deliver 5 V at 500 mA. Wall chargers can deliver much more amperage.

So I'm at 4.9 V at 850mA ---- 100 mA higher on the amperage. Am I gonna fry or charge?

If it was me I'd plug it in and just touch the back of the 9930 after a little while to see how warm it is. We're only talking 100mA here.
