    Today while listening to music via headphones my trusty 9900 hung (not unheard of) music continued to play couldn't access/do anything else... Eventually popped the battery out to reset it - it rebooted all good so far.

    Once it had restarted the screen brightness was constantly 100% while inside, then switched straight off when in sunlight. Reboots & battery pulls didn't initially fix the issue and it required a finger to cover the sensor while outside.

    When I finally had time I popped the battery out for a couple of hrs - restarted it and its all back to normal again.

    Has anyone else had this behaviour ?

    The java gets corrupted every now and again, and the best medicine is popping the battery out for some time. You've done it right, and if it is OK leave it, unless you want to reload your OS.
