Nope. My first BB was the Storm 9530 which I got on release day. Upgraded to the 9550, then the 9650 and now the 9930 (which is my favorite BB to date. Love the touch + keyboard combo).

First BB was the 9000 so the 9900 is like coming home. 9900's keyboard is just amazing.

the 8330 is what made me addicted to BlackBerry, and I really wanted to HATE BlackBerry when I was forced to take one, and as you can see from my posting volumes, I'm full blown a crackberry addict all because of that glorious 8330 which I still think is an amazing BlackBerry.

Going from the 8130 to the 9630 was a huge leap for me, the 8130 was free, please don"t judge me too harshly (but it did get me into a BlackBerry).

Was the 8330 very different in form from the 9630? I loved that phone despite it's lack of wi-fi.

My first Blackberry was a Curve 8330. Then I got the 9330. Now I got the 9900. Blackberries and their OS's are like fine scotch... They only get better and taste smoother with age.

I had both, at the same time actually the 9630 and the 8330 and While using them most of the time I preferred using my 9630, but when it came time to upgrade, I dropped the 9630 and held on to the 8330,

The 9630 was a faster single hand typing device, and certainly looked better, but the 8330 was built much better, the track ball could be popped out and cleaned on the fly and I still prefer the LOOK of BBM back on the 8330 vs the 9630 BBM if I could theme todays BBM to match the BBM of 8330 I would.

Like others the 8330 sucked me in to crack nation as well. I thought at the time I'd never need another device.

The 9930 is that phone x10 though. Nothing quite like the KB/touchscreen combo.

I remember all of my friends having the 8330 devices and thats what made me want to get a Blackberry. But then the iPhone came out on AT&T and I wanted touchscreen like no other. So, I got the iPod touch and then was crazy over the Storm1 when it came out. Sadly that device pretty much failed, but the 9930 has an amazing touchscreen and is blazing fast.

My very first bb was an 8330 from verizon. I bought it on ebay for $115. A bargain at the time. I was pretty lucky. I left bb three times, but somehow I always find my way back. This time I'm not leaving. Smartphones alone, I've had an 8330, 9630, palm pre plus, 9650, iphone 4, then the 9930. For good, I'm staying with bb now.

and just for the sake of posting again on this grand blackberry, the 8330 is the device that got me hooked into the blackberry world. The 8330 was an incredible device. I could drop that thing a million times without a case and it survived everytime. Hope this one lasts as long. I'm pretty sure it will do just as great My sister introduced me to Crackberry Nation I loved all my blackberrys. The 9630 annoyed me though due to the lack of wifi.

I still have my 8330! I loved it to death and it certainly isn't very pretty anymore. I tried e storm and that lasted a month and then went to the 9330. They are definitely good phones, I fell in love with blackberry because of it.

I had the 9630 as my first smartphone/blackberry. Then i moved to android with the droid X and now back with bb with the 9930.

9630 was good for the time being. Android is definitely a step up, but it still has too much lag and I missed the physical keyboard too much.

iPhone 1st gen - Bold 9700 (smoked iphone) - iphone 4 (dropped a weight on Bold and Att did not offer it anylonger) - Bold 9900 (current best phone/device ive ever had.

I too am hooked on blackberry and someday will post "anyone here start out on the 9700"?

i had a 8330. i had aways liked the 9000 because of the keyboard and got my wish in the 9900.

I started out with an 8330, then a 9700 - loved them both and still do. I have the 9900 now and while I absolutely love the keyboard, I have to be honest and say I am just extremely fond of it.

Yes my first bb was a 83xx and it was in this nice dark red color, it was a very good bb. But having a 9900 now and this phone rocks

The 8330 was an awesome device and to tell you the truth, I haven't disliked a BlackBerry device yet. Heck, I even enjoyed the Storm 1 and 2. I just didn't like being on EDGE (AT&T).

I'm going with the 99xx over the 8330 just because that's all I wanted from a BB was the touchscreen/keyboard combo with the trackpad, from the days I had my 9000.

How many are picking it because the specs are better? A bit unfair to the poor old 8330 if that's the case.
