Not yet, but they're working on it.
What problem? I got my 9930 from Verizon phone sales about 6 hours after release and havent had any problems with it so far.
Buy now with warranty. Keep the receipt and backup your data. Exchange if it ever bricks. But my feeling is its not as common and a software issue that should not happen if you don't install many apps and has the latest OS..
Thanks, but not installing many apps is a problem for me :)
I consider myself a medium to light BB user, dont have any apps that didnt come from app world and not that many of them. I have had this 9930 since release day and it has bricked twice on me. I really like the 9930 and the first time it bricked I spent the time and reloaded everything and it worked fine. Last Sunday morning, it did it again, and it took me 2 days to get it back to working condition. I went to Verizon and the CSR didnt have a clue about BB. Afetr I told her what it was doing she shrugged and said I knew more about the phone than she did. I finally got a manager who was an old BB guy who figured out that it got dropped out of the Verizon system somehow. He reentered the info and the phone (calls) worked as well as SMS and email. The software was unstable all day Sunday doing ramdom reboots and crashing. I wiped it and tried to reload but got an error and tried 2 more times until it finally loaded up. Now I dont feel its working that good and contacted Verizon via landline. After about an hour of a tech having me do stuff like "oh Pull the battery out and it will fix it" blah blah. It was obvious they had little or no training in BB. I finally after requesting a Supervisor and citing my 10 year stint with the company as a customer got them to reluctantly to agree to a replacement. I sure hope RIM issues a fix. Its not that much fun resetting all the things that you have on the phone.
what does the number of apps installed have to do with it?
When the fix is released it'll be all over CB, you won't miss it.
The Verizon retail stores are getting dumber. They are really shooting themselves in the foot by not giving the staff the training to deal with customers effectively. Even the manager at the main store where I live is clueless. His instant reply to everything is " you have abused this phone, its an insurance issue, call them". They say they dont replace phones anymore. Why even rent out physical space for these guys if all they do is run contracts?
