- In the past I have used a 9550 and 9650 from Verizon on AT&T and of course I know they only pick up on EDGE and it was no big deal..I'm just wondering if anyone has used an unlocked 9930 on AT&T on EDGE? Just wondering if it seems even slightly faster because of the faster processor and specs etc and os 7.1..etc... I can get an excellent deal on a 9930 to use for personal use, but just wanted to see if it would be worth it.01-20-12 11:10 PMLike 0
- The devices are both powered by the same insides, so the 9900 as fast as the 9930.
Get yourself an AT&T branded 9900, you'll get HSDPA+.01-20-12 11:35 PMLike 0 - In the past I have used a 9550 and 9650 from Verizon on AT&T and of course I know they only pick up on EDGE and it was no big deal..I'm just wondering if anyone has used an unlocked 9930 on AT&T on EDGE? - Can you not get the same deal for the 9900? They are basically the same device. I know that AT&T had nothing like the Storm2 9550, and they had the 9700 and not the 9650 (which had different body styles). But the 9900 is the same exact device as the 9930 except for the service.
The 9900 will run 4G (H+) on AT&T... if you unlock a 9930 it won't have that power. I don't think it will run faster either since the service will still be EDGE. The device will be smooth and data through wifi will probably be faster, but I don't think texting/calling and data over EDGE will be much faster...01-21-12 12:30 AMLike 0 -
- Well the 9930 I am using now isn't my personal one, it's just one that work has given me to use. I have a 9780 that is my personal one. I was just curious as to how a unlocked 9930 would run even on EDGE. I don't have an upgrade until July, or I would go ahead and get me the 9900, or save up and buy a 9790 since it would work on AT&T services.01-21-12 06:56 AMLike 0
