Can the startup and shut-down chimes be turned off?
Can't find it and did a search here and didn't find anything.

strange i have it all OFF and it's just working as how it should be to work.
try to double check everything, and also what switchbean has mentioned.
maybe there is something conflicting with the chime option.

I have BerryBuzz installed which probably is conflicting with it. I am not sure how though as I checked the program just now and did not see any way to access this chime.

I didn't even know there were event chimes... Mine were set to off, I turned them on so I can see what they are.

If I turn EVENT SOUNDS OFF, does that affect the sound profile whcih includes my set ringtones and message alerts? What is the definition of EVENTS?

No. The event sounds do not affect the Sound Profiles. The event sounds are for accessibility.

Event Sounds are only for Battery Full, Battery Low, Connected to power source, Disconnected from power source, Power On and Power Off. They do not affect Sound Profiles.

Glad I found this thread. Mine were set to off by default (I guess) & I turned them on. I like it that my bb let's me know when it's fully charged.
