Shopping for a new phone for my wife, I was comparing prices and features of the 9930 to the Samsumg Galaxy S3. 9930 is $30 more on Verizon's site ($230 vs. $200), but has fewer features and way older (i.e. worse) hardware. Does RIMM have any interest in sales anymore? My wife is a huge fan of BBs, but that is way too far out of whack with the market & current technology.
I don't understand the pricing structure, but the general consensus is that the carriers set the prices for their handsets, not RIM. I do agree that its crazy to think that a brand new phone, with arguably more options, sells for less than a phone that is considered outdated and obsolete.

I bought a used 9930 for $200 on criaglist. Which isn't too bad compared to the full price... But I think BB7 devices will be real cheap by the end of the year. So if BB10 devices aren't legit, I'm buying a bunch of OS 7 devices!
