Well tomorrow is the 28th.
We will see if there is any merit to this (I have major doubts).
Even an announcement and 30day pre-order period would thrill me at this point.
If Verizon delays the launch of the 9930 until Q3 or later then why would any want to upgrade when the QNX devices would be out next year. Yes, they will arrive next year anyways, but many would likely not waste their upgrades IF given the choice.
The current lineup is long in the tooth and really needs a refresh, I can make the return but not if it means waiting longer and longer.

Yea Deathcommand is right why in the world would you ever think a CDMA device was better then GSM. GSM historically over and over has had the better battery. GSM devices can be unlocked and used in FAR MORE countries I mean like dude stop the madness you sound special.
The world apart from usa uses gsm. Battery life is better, no doubt. And you can use any gsm handset anywhere in the world most of the time, while usa handset especially cdma is locked to the carrier.
There will always be mistaken perception in this forum due to this differences. Some people dont even understand gsm and cdma, let alone how different carriers using different frequencies and so on.
For non american, its almost always gsm, and all carriers are using similar frequencies on one big platform.
I honestly think your area helps or doesn't help when it comes to battery life for cdma. But i would just like to know when I can pick up a 9930??? Honestly if a release date is not given by Aug 10th I will have to give up on bb all together. This is getting ridiculous.

I understand the frustration, trust me. But we're entering into August which is most likely when the new devices will hit for every market. You'll have your new BB in no time. Let them polish it so that we don't have as many complaints at launch, RIM can get some positive reviews, and the market won't consider the BlackBerry a poor choice to use an upgrade on.
If I had to guess, I would say mid August for Euro, Asia, and Canada with US following shortly after.
Oh come on. I was just replying to hostility.
Lemme restate myself.
IN MY OPINION, the 9900 will/should be better than the 9930.
WHY YOU ASK? A few reasons actually.
1. Although the 9930 has CDMA. It will only work on a SINGLE network unless another network will allow your phone to work on it AFTER your phone is flashed.
2. 9900 has more bands. These bands are more widely used than CDMA.
3. GSM devices are known to have better battery life than CDMA devices.
4. HSPA+ anyone?
5. GSM is faster(in general) than EVDO.(CDMA Data Transfers)
I will be getting the 9930 on Sprint.
Just to prove I'm not trying to show how much better MY service is than others.
Have a nice day please~

9900 is the world phone. The rest is variant for usa market cdma like sprint. The penta band gsm hspa/ wcdma wont work on sprint cdma, otherwise there will be only 9900 for all.
