Is there no longer a EDGE 3G toggle on the version of OS7 on the Verizon 9930? I used this on my 9700 while on AT&T to help conserve battery.

Thanks, I did not know there was a "Mobile Network" option screen. On my 9700 with OS6, it was in the Manage Connections screen.

It looks like I will not be able to specifically choose between 2G/3G. The way it was described to me is:

Global means "Automatically switch between CDMA and GSM/UMTS depending on network availability".

    For GSM/UMTS:
    GSM 2G
    GSM 2.5G (EDGE)
    UMTS 3G

    For CDMA:
    1xRTT 2G
    1xEV-DO 3G

    See attached screenshot. Thanks!
