I have a 9780 and am looking to upgrade on t-mobile I heard it was 399 for it with a new two year contract is that also true? Just wanted to hear from a few people who have the phone to find out how it works and is it worth it?

While I cannot comment on the price, I have found the 9900/9930 to be one of the best phones I have used. I love it.

I got mine for 249 without renewing my contract but did have an early upgrade fee. You don't see it much here on the forums, but there are a lot of satisfied users, like myself. There's a learning curve to it, and you may come up with issues, but you can find many solutions here. It's a great phone.

Love my 9930. But my buddy got the 9850 and likes it better. I would say since you already have a QWERTY device, then the 9930 is a no brainer.
The 9930 is the best QWERTY phone ever.

Not sure on the T-Mobile prices. VZW had an early upgrade price of $200, but I know that T-Mobile does it differently (like all smartphones are 300???)

Like oopanda said about the happy users. I got mine for 199 adding a line to the gf's Vzw account with vzw. Guess I'm safe after 12 years. I have read that of all BB releases, there are fewer problems than the past devices. And I absolutely love this thing. I went from a 8330 to a 9930. Wow what a difference. One of the few purchases I have ever made without any guilt.

Not only is the 9900 the best BlackBerry ever, but anything associated it becomes the best things ever too. Any carrier that has the Bold on it are the best carriers ever. If one of my friends buys a Bold, they instantly become my BFF. The Milky Way galaxy has been ranked as the best galaxy in the universe because there's some BlackBerry Bolds in it.

Get it now. I pad full price for it after trying it. I gave up my iPhone 4 for it. It really is a excellent phone.

The keyboard is actually usable now (for me). I tried it in the T-Mobile store today (couple hours ago). It was nice. I could type easily 2x as fast on the 9900 than on the 9780, which is worse than a Curve as far as keyboards are concerned (IMO).

The price is a showstopper at the moment. Like $350 before MIR ($299 with it).

Also, it has no Auto-Focus in the Camera and IIRC didn't even ship with UMA.

Two of those can be fixed with time, but no Auto-Focus on a flagship phone camera is unforgiveable. So now I'm contemplating moving to AT&T and getting the 9810, which is priced competitively. I heard battery life on the 9900 was bad as well. The rep in the store said it wasn't anything near teh 9780. The battery got a huge downgrade, which is odd given the spec bump (even with more OS-level battery optimizations).
