I'm trying to get my friend in Canada to pick me up a 9900 and so far I know the Bell is totally unbranded. I know the telus has no physical branding but not sure as far as splashscreen and other software branding? Is Bell the only model that has absolutely no software or physical branding? Thanks!

My TELUS 9900 has no physical branding, but DOES have a TELUS splashscreen on startup.

Bell has no branding. The software part is up to you. Install whatever OS you want as long as its compatible with your phone.

Any OS that is not a leak but official from a carrier and I don't care which one is going to have a branded startup screen.

The outside carrier branding on the bottom or top of phone can be removed very easy.

Don't think the splash screen has anything to do with OS, you can install whatever you want and it will always show the splash screen the original carrier put on it (except for Bell, where there is no splash screen).

Often said here: Software branding has nothing to do with the OS!!

Be carefull with software branding! Software branding can disable/enable features! In best case there are just carrier specific wallpapers/boot screens!

Hardware branding will just effect look!

Thanks for the info. So it looks like Bell is the only fully unbranded 9900.

Anyone have a Virgin Mobile 9900? I heard they are owned by bell. Is there any splashscreen or software/hardware branding??
