So I have an unlocked 9900 that was originally a Rogers phone but using it on Telus. Telus has one more software update than Rogers. I do a software update and it says I have the latest software. If any further updates come along, does it matter whether I update with the Rogers update? Will it do anything to my phone i.e. the unlock? Just wonder. In addition, will I mess things up if I try to apply the Telus update to the 9900? I guess it all comes back to does the sim card have anything to do with updates or is it the software on the phone? Hope this is making sense. Thanks!

1. You have a Rogers phone, and always will have. It will only ever automatically detect Rogers OS updates.
2. You can use any 9900 OS from any carrier, it doesn't matter and it won't harm your phone.
3. Your phone is unlocked, and it always will be. Nothing will change that.
4. The SIM card has nothing to do with OS updates. That is determined by the phone's vendor ID.

I don't think you can on these new models... you could with the older models i.e. 8310 and such, but not with the models after the 9000.
