It's the same as all the other eBay listings that have been posted in here.
The seller doesn't have any devices yet... and won't have any until it's released.
the seller doesn't have any stock. he/she too is waiting for the release
I just saw your Tread and I think you SHOULD NOT buy those on the net because the phone is not officially released yet. I found that some people sold engineering samples on eBay, which can be inferior(sometimes better than the official one) to the official one.
So, be careful and I would hold on to your money and go get it when it is available officially.
Was @dev group vienna meeting and there the new bold was shown... Very nice device...
The RIM guy said there are just 250 9900 out...

Yeah, just another person claiming it to get some sellers to buy it from them overpriced and wont have it until it's released...
To add to mss-ca's post about engineering models; their pins are often deactivated once they leave RIM...so no bbm!
There may be more to that; I've got friends at RIM who have two Blackberries- their work one, which doesn't have bbm, they can only pin each other, and their personal ones. I've never asked, lol.

there are some people here who have pre-release units that havent been deactivated. i think its only engineering units sold illegally or stolen that get deactivated, not all. :D
I remember they sold a couple 9650's on ebay last year. They turned out to be tester devices that got shut off after the real bold came out.

Agreed. I have bought multiple pre-release units and NEVER had a single one turned off.
Its called pre-selling
