9900 perfers 4G over wi-fi cause device doesn't have UMA?

I've noticed that my BB 9900 doesnt pick wi-fi over 4G. My Bold 9780 always did. Is this because 9900 doesnt have UMA available yet?

My 9780 functions as a web browser without a sim card cause it accesses wi-fi, but when i tried to do that 2 my 9900, it didnt work. Perhaps because there is no UMA/wi-fi calling available yet on the 9900?

If you don't have an active SIM in your device that has a mobile number tied to it, how do you expect it to switch to UMA? Your browser working over WiFi and UMA are two very different things. You have to have an active SIM card in your device in order to use UMA.

And yes, with the 9900 not supporting UMA, that would be an issue if you had a SIM in the device.

OP said no web browser without SIM. What browser did you specify? Needs to be internet I believe.
