i think you have to do a few deplete/recharge cycles. I had the same issue a few days after purchasing and the deplete/recharge cycles it seems to work fine. I got it off charger yesterday at 5 PM and it turned off because of no power left today at 4PM. I did some calling, txt, bbm, games, web surfing. BTW, I didn't try to preserve battery
