Yes, my 9900 is being delivered tomorrow. To save me trawling through all the threads on here, can you guys give me your thoughts on which 7.1 OS is the best to load?

    Thanks,

    Alan.

Welcome aboard Alan What happened to the 9790?

As for the best OS... impossible to answer, but 7.1.0.391 and .428 seem to be working well for most Voda UK users here.

I haven't tried any other 7.1 OS other than .267.
Its been good for me so far, no major bugs and the battery life is pretty good.

I'd say .267 but you'd have to try others to see which one is good for you.

9790 is a cracking phone Phill but it just didn't feel right for me. Voda did me a good deal to exchange it for the 9900 so I went for it. Hope Ive made the right decision.

Thanks for your response and good to hear from you again.

I know exactly what you mean mate. The 9790 seemed perfect for me coming from a 9700 & 9780. I had to have one, and wasn't interested in the 9900 one bit. That soon changed though... the first time I tried a 9900 I was hooked. The 9790 is a little cracker, but 9900 is in a different league altogether. You soon get used to the larger size, the keypad is amazing, the screen is fantastic, and the build quality is superb.

You have definitely made the right decision!

My 9900 is 4 days old lol. I went straight to the latest and greatest (437). No major issues so far, but I was at a RIM event early today and was 'suggested' that a big 7.1 update is coming to address quite a few issues and further improve battery life. That, and the 4G Playbook within the next month.

.437 is neither the latest, nor the greatest... it just happens to have the highest number.

Cheers Phill, I know deep down that I have done the right thing. Problem is the Mrs wants one now as well. Guess I will be back on the phone to Voda in the morning.

    Regards,

    Alan.

I understand and agree lol. I hear a good update is around the corner so I'll just wait for now instead of downgrading.

REally? Mines a bit buggy. Hourglassing here and there...Not that bad, but noticeable. 402 didn't glitch as much.

    I'm with Phill on this.

On Voda UK both .391 and .428 have performed well.

If you are paranoid about the built in IT policy of the .4xx OS's as some seem to be then use .391 as it is not present in that build.

I agree. I find .267 near perfect. I had major Bluetooth problems with .391 and uninstalled it immediately. I would recommend .267

    Morning all,

A different question, though didnt want to start a seperate topic!

    Have recently updated my 9900 with 7.1.0 Bundle 1149;

Since then the wireless connectivity to the home router has been poor to zero! all other devices i.e. Wife's iPhone, iTouch, xbox and Laptop have no problems.

Appreciate any advice at all - driving me insane!

    Thanks

Thanks for your replies. Now on 391 and seems to run very well. Battery life not too bad considering what I've read on here. Signal strength not as good as the 9790 on 336 but that may be a device issue. Build quality superb.

    Very happy that I upgraded.

    Thanks again.

    Alan.
