i'm heading to the US for vacation in september, the little trip gift for me will be the bold touch.
i want to use it in europe on vodafone 900mhz and 2100mhz.
    should i get a 9900 or 9930?
9930 seems to be cheaper but how is it about the firmware releases?
or should i play save and get an 9900?
whats the difference between hspa and hspa+?
    thanks

gsm tend to have slightly more compatible OS releases because there are more gsm carriers. That said I wouldn't pick the phone based off of the OS releases...

Either device will work for you and you will get HSPA+ in Europe, HOWEVER, if you want to also have HSPA+ while in North America, you'll need the 9900. Also in the past it has been our expierence that OS updates leak faster for the GSM only devices. HOWEVER, so far in 2 days we have had 2 good leaks for the 9930 so you NEVER know!

here we still waiting for the release and expect that it will be around 800$ off contract.
at the verizon hp it says 509$ additional taxes right? any off contract prices for the 9900 released? right now the max. that i get through costums taxfree is 610$ that include taxes.
is there a way that i could use the 9930 on verizon for the days i'm in the US?

VZW has a prepaid BlackBerry plan. I don't know if you can use it with a 9930, though. When you call to order it, I'm sure that you can ask about it.

Also remember that you'll have to get the phone unlocked if you plan to use it with your Vodaphone SIM when you get back to Europe.

I have a 8330 with Verizon that have used with a prepaid plan. You'll have to pay for the data though. So all in all about $80 for the prepaid plan.

prepaid the pay per call with 0.99$ data a day? or do i have to pick a monthly thing?
can i tether with the playbook or do i have to use bridge?
call to order? my plan was to pick it up at the way from the airport to the place where i stay! not possible?
i wanted to test the phone before i pay for it, learned out of the torch wobble problem.
unlocking not a problem did it with the att torch last year
