- I'm thinking this build does not actually charge the JM-1 to 100% and instead thinks that a full charge is 93% of 1230mAh (1143mAh) and stops charging at that point because I believe that on the flip side, watch it charge and it will skip from 92% to 100%
If someone had two 9930s they could test; one with 7.0 one with 7.1, charge the 7.0 unit's battery to 100% then place it into the 7.1 to see if the immediadrop occurs.
Then that begs the question - why?
I double-checked Sprint's site and they ship with a 1230 mAh battery.

May be worth doing it with the .590 build that has now come out rather than the .585.
Seems to work just as well for those who have done it. Personally I have it prepared for install but am keeping an eye on the .590 thread for a couple of days before doing the install just in case any snags with .590 appear.
For the record the .585/.540 combination is still working great for me and is the best OS I have used to date12-21-11 07:46 AMLike 0 - From my observations I don't think any of the OS, 7.0 or 7.1 charged the battery all the way to 100%. I have NEVER seen Meterberry report a voltage of 4.2V with the 9930 even though it read 100%, while my 9630 Tour always hit 4.2V when it reached a 100% charge.mausland likes this.12-21-11 08:11 AMLike 1

- Battery life is terrible! Sometimes it won't even charge to 100%. Charged all night, and still plugged in now, and it's sitting at 90%. Also, my battery would be at around 80-85% by noon on most days, but now it's around 60%. No new apps. I even deleted a lot of apps the other day just in case. This is NOT good.12-21-11 09:17 AMLike 0
- Same thing happened when I first upgraded to 7.1, but after a few battery cycles of running down to 10-20%, my battery life is good as I would expect and the 92% thing has stopped. With "my normal" usage I can go 26-30 hours before I hit under 10%. But now I just charge every night and all is ok with me.12-21-11 11:20 AMLike 0
- Well, gave up and rolled back. Since we don't know why this is happening and I get no real benefit from 7.1, I downgraded. Oh, well....hopefully, VZW will release their own update.
After downgraded, I noticed that my Application Memory increased by 6% (30 MB). Also, do not have the immediate battery level drop. Time will tell if battery usage returns to normal.
I will be on the lookout if anyone figures out what is causing this.
Cheers!12-22-11 07:14 AMLike 0 - Having the same problem with .503 9900. I'm using BatteryPlus. Here's my log.

You could always give the .585/.540 Hybrid a try, seems to be working very well for many and does not have the battery meter issue.12-22-11 01:30 PMLike 0 - First time I have seen a report of this happening on a 9900 with an OS build of .540 or prior, problem seemed to start with the latest 7.0 builds.

Definitely will try out the hybrid and post results, as long as it doesn't brick on me12-22-11 01:33 PMLike 0 -
Go to the Official .585 thread, page 2. There is a guide by Phill_UK on how to do the file swap if you need it.
Used it myself for 2 weeks and very satisfied with the results battery and stability wise. Not budging from it until something very good gets released so will probably still be running it this time next year !!!puglove26 likes this.12-22-11 01:40 PMLike 1 - Not seen any posts reporting this Hybrid bricking on anyone.

- Went back to 374. Much happier. Probably a safe bet this will not be the 7.1 verizon release (if that ever happens).
Sent from my Big Red BlackBerry 993012-22-11 02:21 PMLike 0 - 7.1 had this affect on my 9930 as well. Confirmed with not only MeterBerry, but also with Battery Watch and the built-in device analyzer included with 7.1. After downgrading to .374 it still continues on mine, observed over a few days.12-22-11 02:38 PMLike 0

- I'm on Sprint with the 7.1 OS. The battery drops from 100% to 92% within 15-30 min. After that it continues to drop like a rock. I have to charge 2 - 3 times a day to make it through.
What's funny about this is my wife is still using a Tour 9630. After 9 hours at work (in her purse) it still reads 100% battery. Yesterday, mine dropped 30% (70% remaining) sitting next to the bed while I slept. Its like a joke.
I messed with removing apps and all that, but it really doesn't seem to make a lot of difference. The good news is it charges back up quickly. I think the battery is junk.
