I was just about to try out a different OS on my at&t 9900 in an effort to get better battery life than the .440 OS that came on it, but when I plugged in to BB desktop software I was notified that 7.0.0.576 was available to update.

I couldn't find any info about it here, or anywhere on the web for that matter. I was going to try 7.0.0.540 because people have said good things about it, but i'm interested in this new .576. Am I the first one to see this or just having a brain fart??

First I've heard of it, I'm on .590 and it's working great for me. Good to see AT&T actually release a newer OS update though

I'm using this one since they launch this release today.
I can't find any of the bugs which are on the other 5xx os's.
For me the AT&T os's are the best and most stable for now.

Edit: only the battery bug is there!

Yep been testing it for the last couple weeks. It is fairly stable and haven't seen any major issues.

If this is an official release, why no posting on the main page on this site? I did an OTA check and my device is up to date.

I was wondering the same thing. I checked OTA and it said that my device was up to date. However, when I plugged in to my Blackberry Desktop Software, I was told of the upgrade. I just finished doing the update. I'm sure it will be fine. AT&T OSs have been pretty stable as far as my experience with them has been.

Desktop Manager is up to date and says there is no update for v576. On the berry software download site, it is there. Does it make a difference if you are on BES?

I'm running it since last night, so far so good. No complains, battery life feels same as on previous OS540, everything else runs smooth.

440 is not (consistently) doing anything I don't like and battery life is excellent. Good luck guys. I'm staying put unless the new OS offers some feature enhancement or bug fix I can appreciate. Updating for the sake of updating is on my list of bad habits to give up for the new year.

Edit: gaaaaaaaaaaaaah. well... I did say for the new year. It didn't seem to hurt anything but I am a bit perturbed at how much battery drop I saw in the hours after installing. Might be a LOT worse than 440. Just a heads up.

Battery life seems better. Upgraded from .440 to .576. Seems quite stable with no random restarts. Browser seems a bit snappier.
