- Today preorder begin so we shall see how "anti-climatic" the announcement was.
I'm just excited to see a repeat of what happened when Verizon got the iPhone. All my BB/Droid dedicated friends who always had a Apple fangirl comment because my personal phone was an iphone, all of a sudden got one the second they could. I had three BB users on Sprint text me last night asking what the difference was between the 4 & 4s. That's one of my biggest issue with this whole phone war foolishness. A lot of people set up so call loyalties (which is ridiculous in itself) to one company because they couldn't get the iPhone. Now you gotta eat crow. SMH
Just get the phone that works for you and don't be a **** because someone else happens to disagree with you.10-07-11 07:22 AMLike 0 - Can't wait to get our new iPhones. I ordered a black one for my husband and white one for myself. While I love the BlackBerry keyboard, I didn't feel the new BBs had much to offer when compared with the 4S tech specs. The improved camera, Siri, FindMyPhone, overall graphics and display, the new Notification Center, iMessage, FaceTime, and Reminders were all huge selling points for me.
Comparing which phone is "better" is pointless because what is best for one person isn't best for another and what is best today may not be the best 6 months from now. I will still like BlackBerry, but for now I'm heading back over to Apple. And there isn't anything wrong with that.Crucial_Xtreme and GingerSnapsBack like this.10-08-11 11:41 AMLike 2 - Really. iPhone 4S: Pre-Order Stock Sold Out
AT&T, as just one of 3 U.S. carriers, sets 200K pre-orders in 12 hours, largest tally they've ever had? Apple sold out of its initial allotment? Yes, it appears to have been very anti-climatic.10-08-11 11:54 AMLike 2 - Tre LawrenceBetween RealitiesIt's an unmitigated failure!

- After the announcement of the 4S, I held my 9930 up like a boxer who just one the fight and said "your still the best phone in the world" and my LED blinked right back at me. Does anyone else get that same confirming feeling about their new Bold after this 4S announcement?10-10-11 12:52 PMLike 0

How many billion big macs have McDonald's sold?
Pour enough money into marketing and you can sell ice to Eskimos.sir.dangerfield likes this.10-10-11 01:20 PMLike 1 - ChrisySeeker of the WayIf a product is really poor, people will stop buying it, and dis it. It must be satisfactory to many folks. Otherwise, they wouldn't buy another.
Why can't people accept that not all people who use Apple products are sheep, morons, trying to be trendy, etc. It's really a silly stereotype.
You honestly think so little of most people that they would continue to buy a product that is terrible? Most people I know are reasonably intelligent, aware and not trying to be cool.
The opposite is true that some folks are against *anything* that is popular becAuse they hate being mainstream. Most of us grew out of that sentiment after our teen years ended. Most adults buy what works for them.
I can't believe so many people here think so low of others. Yes, marketing gets the word out. But without a good product or service, folks will abandon it. And they *will* slam it too, I assure you.Last edited by chrisy520; 10-10-11 at 02:46 PM.

The iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS are the two most popular devices in America. If they sucked, I doubt people would keep buying them. If they sucked they wouldn't be rated so highly. Or are all these happy customers just sheep as well?
Many people fall to marketing, but the iPhone 4S hasn't even really been marketed yet. The device has sold over 1million units 24 hours after being announced. It is not even released. It is announced. That's some badass marketing if it made 1million+ people want a brand spanking new iPhone instantly after it was announced.
Yes I know there is hype surrounded by this, but people want the device. And as long as the customer satisfaction remains the highest while bringing in the highest sales and devices sold numbers, to me that sounds like a quality device.
Oh wait, it doesn't sound like quality, it is... I forgot, I own one and bought it based off my own decisions and not marketing.
Fast Food and quality don't even belong in the same sentence. If you plan on getting a quality meal, you're more than likely not going to be buying something from the dollar menu...Last edited by avt123; 10-10-11 at 03:02 PM.

Case in point... Friday I was at the store buying another PlayBook (early Christmas present for my Dad) and a middle age guy comes in and announces to the salesman "I want an iPhone". The salesman being the stereotypical salesman starts pushing the Android devices. The customer will have none of it and states "My daughter says I'm cool enough to own an iPhone."
WTF!
I couldn't resist. I look over and ask him "Do you make all your purchases based on your daughter's assessment of your social status?" Buddy just sits there with the dumbest look on his face trying to compute his own stupidity. The salesman chimes in again and asks "What features do you like on the iPhone?" Buddy just shrugs and says "I really don't know much about it. I just want an iPhone." The salesman smiles and asks "You want the one with lots of memory or not so much?" At this point I had to walk away :roll eyes:
Sheeple. That's the best way to describe them. Are all iPhone owners like that? Of course not. But a lot are.10-10-11 03:11 PMLike 0 - avt123O.G.Doesn't seem silly when it keeps getting reinforced over and over again.

If his daughter was saying the Palm Pre was cool, he would have been all over that as well. Seems like his daughter made up his mind, not Apple. Therefor, he's not an "iSheep", he is his daughters pet.Last edited by avt123; 10-10-11 at 03:22 PM.

The iPhone doesn't cost anymore then any other phone nowadays, It's no longer exclusive to AT&T, and you basically see them everywhere. The initial "Oh my god an iPhone" has long since faded. MOST people have it because they want it and it works for them.
Believe it or not "I want an iPhone cause it's cool" is so 2007!10-10-11 03:30 PMLike 3 - ChrisySeeker of the WayDoesn't seem silly when it keeps getting reinforced over and over again.

I just can't believe that anyone that can hold a job, have a family, drive a car, find the store, pay his mortgage, ...cannot believe they are too dumb to make their own decision in the end when buying a cell phone. How did he even get dressed in the morning? Sure, his daughter probably recommended It. He may not know a lot about cell phones and asked, or was offered, advice. Was he escorted by family members? Was he drooling and unkempt?
My parents love their iPhone. Not because they are trying to cool. That said bye bye years ago. They made a reasonably informed choice to buy the product because it suits what they need.
For the record, I don't believe one bit that you said that to anyone. You may have thought it. You didn't say it. If you did, you're totally unaware my friend (or young which is forgivible for now).Last edited by chrisy520; 10-10-11 at 03:40 PM.
