So I've had my very first BlackBerry (Bold 9900 on Vodafone UK) for a couple of months now and have decided to take the plunge and upgrade from stock.296.
Which is the way to go, leaked .440 or official .439 ?
Alternatively, am I better off waiting for my carrier to release an upgrade ?
Both 439 & 440 are buggy. I'd recommend .353. Both 440 and 439 cause wierd freezing of the touchscreen that's never happened on 353 also I had a random freeze an reboot on 439.

440 has given me terrible battery life , I was on 296 before and tht was much better imo , the 440 drains my battery so fast and there's no apps running in background or any refresh evrey hour etc so I don't no how people are getting great battery life cos I can't

I found the opposite since upgrading from .250 to .440. My batt life improved noticeably. I only recently installed Meterberry so I don't have any concrete observation to share yet.
BTW, during the RIM outage your phone would discharge much faster due to phone trying to constantly make a connection to RIMs backend. Things should be much better now.
So far I have been averaging about 6.5% discharge per hour according to Meterberry since upgrading to .440. That's with fairly average usage of phone, txt, email and some browsing.
hey, can anyone give me the link to download .440 and .439? Like the proper links.. Right now I was updating to .440, found the link in this forum and it got stuck in the middle and said that there is no communication the device? now I am redoing it. Also, i did delete the vendor.xml
I've noticed a couple glitches in both 439 and 440. When texting, a duplicate draft will sometimes appear in the inbox, which gets a little annoying. I've also been having issues with my convenience key ever since 343 or so. It simply will become unresponsive at times. I wonder if it's a hardwaer issue, glitch across multiple OS builds, or an app that's causing it...

Installed .439 WIND a few days ago over .250 T-Mobile. After a few reboots, the battery is better, and it keeps the signal a little bit better than before (which should be the case since their radio stacks are the same). It seems more stable overall. If you are on T-Mobile, then I recommend this over .400 until the official TM arrives with UMA and Hotspot.

I haven't noticed any appreciable difference between them I think both are good but then again I'm not noticing any battery or other non-cosmetic issues.

Im having the same issue with the duplicated drafts, and I even rolled back to .353 with no luck.
