1500mAh Battery (non-RIM) - BUYER BEWARE - DON'T BUY THIS!
I just purchased a spare battery for my 9900 on ebay. It is listed as follows:
1500mAh 3.7V Battery + Charger For Blackberry Bold 9900 9930 Touch J-M1 JM1
It isn't an official RIM battery - it is a cheap imitation - and I knew that when I bought it. However, even for a cheap imitation, this product can be simply described as a piece of crap. Let me describe how you have to use this battery:
When you get it, you have to 'program it' by placing it in a special coupling device with your original battery. Originally I thought, well this isn't too bad if you only have to program it once. It only takes a few seconds to program. However, you have to re-program it if you do a reboot. And you have to reprogram it after you do a battery pull. And you have to reprogram it if the battery charges goes down below a certain amount.:eek::(
So, to use this battery, you have to carry the programmer and your original battery around whereever you go. Not practical at all. Obviously I wasn't aware of these issues when I purchased it.
One other thing - the 1500mAh specification on this battery is dead wrong. It lasts about the same time as my official JM1 battery. Maybe even a little worse - now I'm going to go out an buy a REAL spare battery - an official product from RIM.
