Hey guys,

Do I need to really charge the phone for 12 hours after the battery got drained as my "first charge"? It doesn't make much sense, but, do I "need" to do it?

The battery needs a full charge. Not likely to take 12 hours. Full is full no matter the time used.

Mine charges in 1 hour but then again I unplugged it at 4am and 7 hrs later and I'm down to 60%. How did I drop 40% while was asleep? I can't wait to get rid of this 9930. Drops 15% within 1 hour

12 hour a full night charge is all bull****, you need to charge the phone till it says its battery is full. then for first 2-3 battery cycles use the phone till the battery completely discharges, just the the first 2 times. then charge your phone as frequently possible. modern Li-on batteries have a specific life period say 300 cycles (charge+discharge), if you often let it run weak you are completing your life cycle much more quicker.

NO, you do NOT need a 12 hour charge with these batteries. But you need a 100% initial charge to make sure the battery and the battery meter get synced for the first time. Some people found that it is a good idea to drop the battery close to 10% or less and recharging it once every few months. But I don't know about that. You do need a 100% charge before the first use NOT 12 hour charge.

No its not true. I ran my battery to near death when I first got my 9930. I opened up the box, activated, and then updated the OS.

I have no complaints with battery life. Those of you who have low battery performance need to check your settings and what apps are still open.

If you have any social apps, turn your refresh rates to zero. Why does it need to auto refresh when it refreshes as soon as you open the app?

My 9930 averages a 5-10% drop overnight.

My two cents is just use and and charge it when you sleep. There is NOTHING you can or can. Of do that will greatly effect your battery one way or another and that is the truth.

Do what makes you feel good as your battery really does not care.

Follow the instructions. If you have problems later with the battery, at least you will be able to say you followed the instructions exactly and it's not your fault. I let mine charge overnight and haven't had any problems yet.....fingers crossed

i have an extra battery and charger for mine. it has been on the charger all day in waiting for my 9900 for tonight. so pumped.

Left mine charging for a week before I used it. Got mine 6 montha ago and have yet to charge it again. Is this normal. Still running after 6 months on the first charge! Yeah I'm serious! its the new Voodoo berry, charge it once and its good for life! I do have to sacrifice a chicken every month to make sure it doesn't get bad juju.
