I am not really sure what you mean. I tested this on the simulator a while ago and it worked fine. The only feedback I could give you is that universal search sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

My only gripe is when using universal search, the screen turns white as opposed to fading out the wallpape. Is it possible to fix this?

Different mover? The focus icon that tells you where you are? Short answer "no" since these are indeed sort of stock themes. I will eventually update the Droid theme that you pmed about though.

Was wondering if u cud update the L shaped 6.1 version with a diff mover other than the default if that's not too much to ask?
