whenever i try and use the shortcuts, it brings up the universal search
really unhappy. kinda renders the whole thing useless

Options > Display > Home Screen Preferences > Launch by Typing: Change to Application Shortcuts.

You may have to switch to default theme first.

hey.
when i use the "i" key it opens AIM and only when i exit AIM it show the apps. how can i make it not to go to AIM (im using 9780).

Most developers are not on the forums 24/7 give it some time to get a response, especially more than an hour and five minutes. Also try and give a better description of what is wrong as others may be able to help!

Sorry, but I just get crazy when pay for something that gives me troubles :S

look like its going to open some window, but go back at the same time.

This is a known issue with the Operating System and Theme Builder the developers work with. You can still change your wallpaper via Media > Pictures > Set as Wallpaper.
Other options you can still get to by switching to the default theme first then back to this theme.
