While I was deep into hybrid building, I tried making a super-small BlackBerry6 style theme (you know, the ones with trays) to see if I could minimize the memory "leak" I was getting with my different OS versions.
I never did solve the issue of OS6's poor memory management on my 9700, but I did manage to make a pretty slick theme using the newer icons.
And more importantly (for me, anyway) it is tiny in the theme world: 248 KB.
So, in my typical fashion, here it is....released to the CrackBerry community for free.
It is the perfect companion to any of my B@stard hybrids....or even a plain old stock OS.
1. Yes, I went old school with the WiFi indicator. I dig it.
2. The fugly email icon is what you get when you have the Enhanced Gmail Plug-in installed. There's no way to change that one.
3. The only known issue (so far) is that the Tiny Meter icon does not dynamically update...so if you use that app and depend on the icon on the app screen, well, it won't help you much.
That is bizarre. I didn't make any changes via the theme. Themes typically have no way to alter icons for third party applications.
I noticed that when i make a battery pull and the phone restart, whats app is initializating (take few minuts for TCP/BIS fase3). Perhaps this is what causes the change of icon, infact if i change the theme when whatapp is ready, the icon remains original. Then if i make a new battery pull, the icon returns "bizarre one"
What do you think?
Since I'm feeling like a nice guy, and it is the Christmas season after all, here's a link to a new version of my B@stard6 theme.
The most notable bit of newness in this version is that I have finally figured out how to change the icons for new home screen folders...so you get a little more of that snazzy OS7 feel. I also updated the "Now Playing..." icon to the OS7 version.
how to install the theme yar.... downloaded and installed but it shows in application list but when i am trying to change the theme, only blackberry OS 6 is there
