    Hi there,

Any way to change the lock/unlock mechanisms with OS6? My top buttons don't currently work! I'm going take it into a repair shop when the new speaker I ordered arrives but that won't be for a couple weeks and I currently can't put it in my pocket without pressing a ton of buttons.

I just upgraded to OS6 a couple hours ago because my phone was nuking itself (How to Reload the Operating System on a Nuked or Bricked BlackBerry | CrackBerry.com) and it seems like there's no way to lock/unlock without the top buttons...

Anyhow, new here, love these forums, help if possible!
    thx
    Rbka

Good point. "a" locks it, but you need the top button to unlock.

If you lock it and pull the battery it should be unlocked. You could password your berry, then locking it should prompt the password rather than needing the unlock key. I think. Never tried it, though.

*edit* I tried it and it didn't work. It still prompts me for the lock key.

If you have it you can put it in a holster and then take it out, that will unlock your phone

That is what I always do. Except on rare occasions. OP, have you tried slapping it face down in your hand, or battery side inside your hand? I got mine corrected, sometimes the membranes get misaligned and this sometimes helps correct it by re-aligning them.

press "k" on your keyboard, but you have to switch universal search to application shortcuts in home screen preferences...

need to enable password protection in security settings.

if you hold "a" it will still make you unlock using the top lock button.
