I'm trying to find a theme with the battery and signal in percentages? I haven't had much luck. It'd be nice if they were larger than the regular font as I think they're too small. I guess I'm getting old :)

You can change the display of the 'signal strength' on your screen to read in real numbers. While at the home screen, hold down the ALT key while you type NMLL. The bars should change to numbers. For the 'signal strength', if you are in the 100 area (that means -100 dBm), you will be transmitting at maximum power. Anything at -90 to -50 is a very good signal.
Then load your theme with numeric battery signal.
I've done that. However, it's really really small. I'd prefer it to be larger and coupled with the battery in numbers too. I'm constantly running out of juice and do better with percentages than bars.
Thats a neat little trick. I too would like a theme of %'s; they're easier for me to read.
Are there any theme creators listening? :)
I agree, percents would be ideal.
This would be a very cool idea
one was created last december 14, go here

D Mac's themes (eg "DD", "Today Left 2", or "Pro 1.3") use a series of blue bars for both signal and battery that give you a % indication. If I remember correctly, each bar represents 10%. Check out other threads in this forum.
Tito has some!!! Check out Tito's themes you will love them!
May I ask for a application that replaces the picture of the battery on the front screen of the Blackberry OR can be placed next to the battery (if screen room allows it).
The replacement for the battery on the screen will be the percentage of battery life remaining. For example 64%. As the battery decreases or increases (if charging) the numbers change accordingly, without changing any the themes ?
I will donate a few cents to do this
