Should be a theme out there but you can go to Options>Advanced Options>Accessibility>Color Contrast>Reverse Contrast.

Downside is everything on your phone is reversed....

Sure. Let me know if the image quality is bad and I'll repost... I'm on my phone and I don't know how well they transfer when being uploaded to Photobucket from the media card.

Hey....thanks for the suggestion...pictures look like crap, but it does the trick for messages! If you come across a theme that does it, I'd love to hear about it. There was one I had a few berries ago called "dark lord" or something like that, but I haven't been able to find a theme with white on black message display despite searching extensively....I've even bought a couple, only to find that menus display reverse video, but messages do not.
