It was either use that one or the blue one from the saved messages. I wanted to keep a unified feel to all of the messaging related items (default mail box, messages, sms, saved, and compose mail are all postage stamp icons). Using the green one seemed to be the best choice.
(Plus the Amelie stamp was in an icon pack I found.)
The only other icon I was considering was the same blue eagle icon with a small phone in the bottom corner. The green vs blue seemed significantly more distinguishing.
