Well after reading about the battery problems I started removing the application from the device. I noticed one program that apparently is archived but I cannot seem to remove it - only gives me the "restore" or "cancel" options. I hooked it up to the desktop manager and the program does not show up.

Any idea how I can remove it from the device?

    Thanks.

You have to delete it from within App World if you downloaded it with App World and that's what it sounds like you did.

When you download a program though appworld, if you delete the program though "tools" or from the program itself it will become an 'archived' program (meaning that the program still takes up memory space but can not be used until reloaded though appworld).
If you have 'deleted' it though other then appworld then, to remove it completely from memory you must re-install it through myworld in appworld then delete it though appworld.
The program in myworld in appworld will then say 'uninstalled' with no memory space taken up.
