Which one is better. Do pictures from media card upload any faster with the UK version?

Also, do ATT customers still get to switch from 3G&2G to 2G with the UK version?

    Thanks

Yeah, how about not? People don't listen, even with facts in front of their face.

That crap can be kept in the Rogers .282 thread.

I went from .167 to .282. Am I going to have to roll back in order to switch?

Meh... all I know is that for me, when I upgraded to the Rogers .282 I now consistently have anywhere between 44-55 mb free memory where I used to have 28-36 mb before.

All I know is that the Asian .282 added the option to turn wifi on/off which Rogers did from the start.

But I can say, I haven't had a single problem with .282 yet, but you should try out both see what you like better.

Guys...how about the whole media card picture upload issue (slow with Rogers' .282)? Any better with the UK version?

Im no IT guy or a BB OS specialist but i do know my way around computers and BB's and there IS a difference between the Rogers and Vodafone .282 OS's....
I ran the Rogers version for about 3 weeks and decided to try the Vodafone UK version and so far the Vodafone version is holding the memory better and my 3g connection is stronger. On the Rogers version i could sit in one spot and watch it jump from edge and 3g, so far on the Vodafone version im not seeing this. They say there's no difference in the OS's except for some of the different carrier additions but my phone is defiantly reacting better with the Vodafone version over the Rogers one.

I don't mean to sound dumb or anything but does the rogers or vodaphone really any different from the asian version that I have?

    P.s. I upgraded from .167 to asian .282

I just upgraded from the asian to the vodaphone, and yes, it's an upgrade. The pictures are still slow, but my signal is more consistant, and I'm finding better memory management.

As to sound, I'm a sound engineer for several groups, and I never had a problem with the sound on the asian. Vodaphone also sounds good, so I have had no problem there.

And just google "vodaphone bold os" to find the download site. It's available from blackberry.com

I found it on vodafone site. I got more memory from vodafone but i'll see how the leak goes. Everything runs fine to me. Also going to see how battery drains.

I love the asian version but I do notice reception flaws and droppong to edge even in the middle of a 3g area. Does this version solve this issue?

I don't see any reason to switch- I have 50MB after a battery pull, consistent coverage and better battery life then .167, a lot better. Only difference being slightly less volume over BT, which I can live with.

Is there anyone except CrackCurve56 who thinks the Rogers has terrible sound? I don't think one person complaining means the OS is the problem.

XAMDAM, glad I found you. I got rid of the Rogers crap, WENT BACK TO VODAFONE UK .266, then UPGRADED TO VODAFONE UK 282. I now have my great sound back like Vodafone .266 had only I'm on .282 now. It solved that bestial Rogers problem. Rogers sound was distorted and lower, and the Vodafone UK one (who gave me the .266 version I've been running for a long time) has exquisite sound and runs FASTER than the Rogers version. I'm on the Vodafone UK version of 4.6.0.282 now and what a HUGE difference from Rogers version. Everyone, believe me you will see a huge difference. Rogers network doesn't agree with AT&T like Vodafone UK does.
I read a bunch of threads that mentioned the sound problems on the Rogers version. As a result, I upgraded from Vodafone UK .266 to Vodafone UK .282. I'll see how I like it.

Well I dont know why people say the Vodafone is the same OS as Rogers but on my phone the difference was insane!..
I just tried it on my phone just to see the difference and of course participate in this discussion lol.

my load up time from a battery pull is reduced by at least 3 minutes seriously...

my mem is up to 55.6MB as opposed to 42 - 44MB

so after seeing it with my own eyes I must say that yes there is a difference!

i did the upgrade just to see how it was.... i like that on a bp it loads alot faster seriously, but my app memory is only 42.8mb up from 39.0mb but i thought it would be more..

i don't have any themes, 7-8 apps will see how the battery life goes...
