    I downloaded the BlackBerryDesktopSoftware_1_1_B39 file tried installing software but i always get the error screen. Also tried installing after a few reboots but problem persists. What am i missing here?

    What OS is installed on your PC? What is the error message, exactly?

    and when i go to download again it won't download the complete file, each time it downloads a progresively smaller file (that obviously doesn't work either)

    When installing, right click on install file and "run as adminstrator".

    had tried that, rebooting, make no difference.

    i see the file is supposed to be 153MB but the original i downloaded was 144MB... does anyone have a link to full file that isn't from the main blackberry page?

    i discovered the problem on that laptop, i was downloading via Chrome. just downloaded via IE and it downloaded complete (153MB) just installed itself... now to see if it works!

    Edit... and yes it works flawlessly! (q10 10.3.1.2744 / 32bit laptop Win7)

    ... however i got home and tried to install it on another laptop (64bit running Win8.1) and i get the same problem, but different message "The specified account already exists". WTF. Starts installation and the window comes up a quarter of the way in.

    I tried uninstalling everything related to RIM, rebooted a number of times bit still get the same message.

    really frustrating how buggy this is just to install. i understand why so few people migrate to BB10!

    What else can i do?

    I've tried chrome and IE, and I still get a download error every time I try it. My error is a bad file in "My Documents"
    I have no clue how to fix it.

    i fixed it on my second laptop (where the file downloaded fine) by cleaning the registry.

    I used the same installation file. But I am receiving an error message with error code - 2147023274 and to restart the computer and try again. I tried it several times. But no luck. I'm using a Windows 7 pc. Even tried 'run as administrator' . Please help me!! BBZ10

    go to
    1- System settings
    2- Media Sharing
    3- click on Devices at the bottom of the page
    4- Check the box to allow your device to access media sharing from your computer

    Hope this will solve you problem
