    Please post your thoughts.
I am going to say under $300 will work for this post. Anything more and you may as well buy a Surface 3 or a Sony Z2. Looking for low cost temp use primary for emergency bigger screen assistance or entertainment on the road. A flagship tablet is not needed for this temp. low use need. I want Blend and the internet mainly.

Honestly, you might as well buy a cheap laptop (there are some around the price of $300 and they're small Acer laptops). These will give you better specs and performance for around the same money. At the moment, Blend is useless on tablets because it's so slow on them.

If you can maybe find a windows tablet pc hybrid (as in has good specs and has FULL windows os, not windows rt!), then that would be a steal. I don't remember how much those are but I've seen quite a few. They should be around $300 maybe a bit more.

The reason you shouldn't get windows rt is because it's a crippled os that is going to lose support when windows 10 comes out soon

Also get a mouse if you want to make the experience more pleasant.

And finally, try not to get an android or iPad tablets. Androids are laggy and slow and have huge security problems. Ipads on the other hand don't slow down as much but blend can't interact with anything in the ios. Also, there's no file manager

Like I said, there are a few tablets that run windows 8 (the full os, not rt). If you can find one with decent specs and a good price (should be quite a few of them), then buy that

OK but I really don't care about windows 8 for this thread. This thread is about cheap tablets. I'm looking for cheap and good ANDROID 4.4+ kitkat for Blend Support.

Ok. You never asked specifically for android.

Just a heads up, your experience is going to be very bad as android is very glitchy, laggy and full of security issues

Blend sucks on a 7 or 8" windows tablet screen unless you have bluetooth or usb keyboard and mouse. At least I never use it on my 8" windows tablet because of that. I also mostly use modern apps when on my tablet for the same reason as the desktop is too small for touching and then you have to manually invoke the virtual keyboard and if you're not in portrait mode the kb covers up what you're typing so you can't see what you're typing.

I wonder how it will be on the new surface pro or whatever it is though. Its not available yet so that is for another thread.

Still interested in a dirty android I can throw away to the Sand people on ebay later.

Add a wireless keyboard/cover to the tablet I mentioned earlier. It has a trackpad built in, so no need for a separate mouse.

Like I said, unless you have something like that. I have a laptop so my tablet is used like a tablet and blend and most things in the desktop suck to use as a tablet that's why I stick to the modern stuff with it.

Edit: A larger screen tablet I imagine would be fine.

I have found that the Acer Iconia line has a great balance between performance and price, especially for their 10" models. It's right in the price range you're looking for.

I have an A210, which isn't made anymore. But here's one of the new ones on Amazon: Amazon.com : Acer Iconia Tab 10 A3-A20-K1AY 10.1-Inch HD Tablet (Android 4.4 KitKat) : Computers & Accessories

I wish BlackBerry would make a modern blend app for the smaller screen win tablets.

Sorry, but for what you get, that tablet is rather pricey.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 10" vs Acer Iconia Tab 10
    ----------------------$250 vs $223
    ------------------Intel Atom vs MediaTek
    ------------1920x1200 10" vs 1280x800 10"
-----------------2gb of ram vs 1gb of ram
    9600mAh 18 hour battery vs 5700mAh 9 hour battery
-----Front facing speakers vs rear facing speakers
    ----------Built-in kickstand vs none

and while looks are subjective, I personally think the Lenovo is a nice looking piece of kit. The Acer is very bland.

True, the Lenovo does look like a decent tablet! I'll keep Lenovo in mind whenever I'm on the market again. I do like their laptops (typing on one now).

This stuff can give you headaches: looking at the miriad of tablet options.

Looking good and the options don't have to be keepers either. I am talking a 3 month or whatever hold and sell scenario here.
