After installing Blend on my PC running Windows 8.1 64bit I'm having problems just trying to open the program. Clicking the desktop shortcut doesn't do anything at all. After running windows compatibility test is says Blend is a incompatible program. I have tried running as administrator. I have unistalled my antivirus and turned off the firewall. But nothing has worked.

Has anyone else had similar issues? Any fixes or suggestions? Anyone running Windows 8.1 64bit who is running Blend without issues?

I'm at the end of my tether with this one.

You could try running in compatibility mode. Right click, properties, compatibility tab. Then choose windows 7 or another setting

Hello. Thanks for your suggestion but I have already tried all those options. I have even tried safe mode. The program just refuses to open. So frustrating.

Anyone else with a possible solution?

So I tried installing Blend on my old laptop running windows 7 and guess what it works! But not on my Windows 8 PC.

Is anyone else having problems with Windows 8.1?

It works fine on my Microsoft Surface Pro with Windows 8.1 and I didn't do anything special - just installed it and it worked.

    Ok a quick update.

After much head scratching and after a very long phone call to Blackberry 30 day support, who I have to say we're incredibly helpful. I was back where I started. That's to say nothing was working.

So I did the only thing left worth trying. I re-installed Windows 8.1 and.....

    IT WORKS!!!!!!

And it works quite brilliantly. Lots of hassle but the problem was obviously at my end.

So everyone else out there who could be having the same issues... you have been warned

I ve seen that windows issue when a system restore was done. Windows system restore tends to break stuff

Yes I tried a Windows Refresh but that just corrupted the whole system. So did a complete re-install. Painful but I got Blend to work in the end. So worth it.
