Their cost are higher.... most of those "real" budget phones aren't paying a licensing fee to use a name, they aren't using custom software that needed teams of engineers. And a $15 or $20 fee on the front end can be $30 - $50 on the retail end.... and we don't know what BlackBerry charges.

Thing is BlackBerry phones have ALWAYS costed more... but in the past they offered features that most counted as an extra value. Today, it harder to put a "value" on the few things that set a BlackBerry apart from an Xiaomi. Most consumers won't.
There's still quite a bit of barrel below this: using Mediatek CPUs instead of Qualcomm, outsourcing the OS to Stack Overflow instead of Waterloo, etc.

Well, neither device is made by BlackBerry, but I suppose each has their own market. It sounds like you want the cheapest one possible.

Seen words budget phone.... I thought Merah Putih was calling it a mid grade device.

I don't know the market there and where a budget phone falls and where a mid grade device starts off.... but I don't remember any of those interview where they talked about going after the "budget" market.
Well, the thing is that even here in South America I wouldn't call this phone a midranger with that 720p screen and a SD425
