Looks like a low range device?

Wasn't meant to be discredited
It does, until you see 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. That's what's made me quite interested. Even the PRIV, DTEK50 and 'Mercury' all have 3GB.
Obviously the processor and screen is definitely low end but still quite interested. Maybe it will come to global markets. Who knows.

I'm pretty sure he was joking about the Lithuanian support

Thats never gonna happen...
Didn't figure, just more of a reminder. :)
I thought mercury was the last device from BlackBerry.

It's the last device "designed" by blackberry. further blackberrys, like this one, are licensed out. There is still some sort of quality control from blackberry but other than that they are all outsourced out.
Just to be clear about this - they aren't outsourced from this point - the DTEK50 and DTEK60 were outsourced.
Your first sentence is correct - they are *licensed* which means that beyond approving the design, they are hands off.

That's my home town :)
Passed local certification:

As much as it's unlikely to make its way out of Indonesia, I'll be very interested to see what they've come up with for this device.
This from @Krispitech
Quote: BB Merah Putih first device is a low-end device. SD425, 5.5" HD display, 13MP/8MP cam, but rather massive 4GB RAM with 32GB storage.
This is odd. Of course it is going to be a cheap full-touch, but... 4 GB of RAM, while "just" 3 on the Merc and the DTEK 50? It's not in my style, but, "wtf".
Anyway this source doesn't seem to be that trustable, for me, just look at the garbled grammar.
Key is going to be the pricing..... many keep saying low-end, but that seems to be a very price conscious market. Do think the dual SIM capabilities is something that many BlackBerry lovers there have been asking for.
BB Merah Putih has in the past talked about this being a upper mid-grade phone... which it might be for THAT market.
Looking at the certification it is legit, it is Indonesian language
