I bet it's another slab model, since the PKB one would be very expensive to make. Wouldn't rule out any possibility, though. And if it comes with BB10...wow. Almost impossible, I know. Another very expensive route. The rest is a rather boring prospect of yet another android. Yay.
Who wants one? I'm in Indo now, I'll send you guys a one lol :P
Can't wait
"BB Mera Putih" basically means "Blackberry Indonesia" or quite literally "Red White BB". (Red and White in Indonesia is like saying Red, White and Blue in America) This Tiphone brand seems to distribute a wide range of devices as well as make their own line. But their own lines seems to be made up of copycat sub par devices for about $100 sold in china. Now they have been given the keys to make official blackberry devices and I'm not convinced these devices are going to be high end. Hopefully blackberry's quality control of these products will prevail and some decent products can come out of it. Although their statement officially talks about Android devices if any place in the world can push out new BB10 devices it probably is Indoneisa. It may be interesting what comes out of this but I'd rather put my money on TCL then this new JV.
I am an Indonesian and have been living in Jakarta all my life. I know TiPhone and have once bought one of their products, about 5 or 6 years ago. Not a very good one, I'm afraid. I don't think I've ever seen any of their product worthy of even a glance.
BB Mera Putih isn't going to introduce a flagship device. It will be at most like Moto G4 specs, previous gen QC6xx, 1080P 2GB ram, for $175-$200.

BlackBerry merah putih? \_(ツ)_/
hope thats a prototype. Yikes.
So in other words the DTEK50...
A cheaper version yes based on another design that has dual-sim. Every phone there in that price range has dual-sim.
Looks like a botched version of Z30, up front. Lol. I do hope that's a prototype.
If I throw this picture in Google image search it doesn't find it anywhere, no blogs, no tech sites or anywhere. Where did this picture come from? Hopefully the "shell" around it is still in development.
Looks very ugly as of now. Hopefully they change something and bring it out...and front looks like z30

That's because it's utter BS. That's just an LG G5 with (very bad) photoshopped BlackBerry logos.

That clock is straight from LG's always-on lock screen.

If BB Merah Putih makes their first phone like the LG G5 SE I would be impressed. The phone is very BlackBerry like and happens to be made in Indonesia too.
Just be careful of bootloops. They don't taste like Froot Loops.
Chen didn't act like he is expecting very much from the hardware licensing deals.....
In a way I think it might have been better to just stop with the DTEK60... end on a high. Rather than drag the BlackBerry name into the realm of low end devices built exclusively for "other" markets. But BlackBerry is a business, and if the can squeeze another few million out of the name over then next few years.... that's the bottom line.
Minor point - Blackberry is not part of the joint venture - that is a press misunderstanding.
Ahh you are going this route now i see. What happened to "nobody will licence it outside of Indonesia" ? Or how about "a pkb device won't come and if it does will only be Indonesia" ?
You see, those were according to you facts. Clearly every single thing you proclaimed was absolutely 100% WRONG. So why should anyone take anything you say at this point seriously?
Do they taste like old boots?
I don't take me seriously... sure don't expect anyone else to!
Hahaha i don't recall that when you were so confident you were right. In fact, i think you were a bit condescending to anyone who stated things may go a different route (notice the use of the word "may" not "WILL" ).
From the front, it looks like the Z30
Who knows, maybe Merah Putih will be the only one producer of BB10, or even OS7 devices.
Indonesia is not like US or Europe market, the needs are different.
Any, time will show us the future.
