Looking at the certification it is legit, it is Indonesian language
Yeah, but I wasn't totally sure about the specs' description: being an official officious (sorry for the pun) report... mhh, I don't know, I just believe it'll sport less RAM. Out of curiosity, why are Dual Sim phones so appreciated in Indonesia?

That's the specs that many have been reporting for the BBC100-1 since CES.

From what others have said here.... it's not unusual for there to be a number of different providers in a single large city, with very little overlap and exorbitant roaming fees between them. Many there carry multiple phones, each with their own prepaid SIM card - one guy said at one time he carried five phones. Most are cheaper phones....

I'm oddly interested in this device.. I wonder what it'll end up looking like/ performing because a big screen, cheapish blackberry would be great for a few regions not just Indo

Only place that they are licensed to sell them.... I'm sure they'll leak out, but usually that will add to the cost too. Never mind the issues with support and network compatibility....

Another distributor Optiemus Infracom has the India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal markets with phones is the $180 to $300 price range. And of TCL has all the rest of the world... with plans beyond the Mercury.

This is odd. Of course it is going to be a cheap full-touch, but... 4 GB of RAM, while "just" 3 on the Merc and the DTEK 50? It's not in my style, but, "wtf".
Anyway this source doesn't seem to be that trustable, for me, just look at the garbled grammar.
I know RAM warfare in China is rampant (the Galaxy Note 7 launched with an extra 2GB of RAM there) as part of an arms race between OEMs, but I'm not sure if that translates well to markets around China like Southeast Asia.

Right. I wonder if they'll have a generic design language or hold onto some of the heritage. While they're licensed to sell in specific regions they could cross license reference designs and such to keep uniformity across various geographic. Very interesting to see what those KB devices will look like later this year.

Whats another dollar to go from 3GB to 4GB...

The Snapdragon 835 supports up to 8GB of RAM... won't be long before someone maxes that out. The question is does Android know what to do with it.

First Indonesian (Merah Putih) BlackBerry - BBC100-1-img_20170222_033100.png

just check by myself on official website of Ministry of Trading and Industry of Indonesia, and Yes they put this certificate with the specs details for this phone, BBC100-1, SD 435, 4GB/32GB, 13MP/8MP, 5.5", dual sim card, LTE, 3000Mah

for me personally it's good specs for entry and for this specs the price should be less than 150$, because nowadays $100-150 is the price range for most market in indonesia.

for the OS it's impossible they not run Android, it must be Android, every one here operate android, except +-10% people using iPhone, in my workplace of 750 workers only 2 people using BB10 hahaha

some of website in Indonesia wrote that PT BlackBerry Merah Putih will release it together with Mercury in barcelona, but it's not officially confirmed

about dual sim card, it's important, and Indonesian usually have 2 phone numbers, me also , because we are archipelago and not all Operator can cover all area, that's why I have secondary phone for my BlackBerry Passport which is as main device.

This is interesting - I remember the Z3 making a not-insignificant appearance at MWC 2014 despite being solely for the Indonesian market. Perhaps the separate licensing deals aren't as dividing as they sound and we'll see something on the BB Merah Putih handset at the show. It doesn't look far away, whatever happens!

    Just... wow.

(I had alternative visions of a dull, Z3-like phone. If these are genuine, then I have as much optimism for BB Merah Putih as I do TCL.)

Blackberry Logo on the front? Interesting.
    4GB RAM? Interesting
    32GB Storage? (Low end?) Interesting
3,000mAh battery. Same as DTEK60 but much lower screen resolution. Internesting

Turning out to be a cool device If the pricing is below $349 it could be really good. I'm sure @jmznvs will be chatting about it on the BerryFlow Upstream Podcast.
