I understand this phone was released for sale in Indonesia in March. Any Crackberrians from Indonesia here on this board? What impression are you getting about the popularity of this phone in your country?

I hope it's doing well. Android is a very crowded and cutthroat market. Especially in third world countries.

I think LG and MOTO think the same about 2nd and 1st world countries too.....

We have reached a point where sales have slowed and where competition is very fierce all over.... price, features, gimmicks - anything to make your device stand out. BB Merah Putih has put a lot of hope in the BlackBerry Brand itself (and maybe the security) being a selling feature. So far I don't think we have any indicators of how the Aurora is doing.

Which is a little unusual.... with the Z3 launch there we had a number of locals here back then.

Not very well. Most people say it's overpriced.

You can use google translate to see their opinion, most of them don't use formal language but you will still get their point.

99% are complaining on the price point. It has just gotten to the perfect one: Rp2.3jt (US$175.45)

I mentioned this briefly in the past, but it's more striking now. Despite Indonesia being a significant handset market for BlackBerry, that is an enormous amount of interest accumulating in a hardware licensee for nominally a single country. That page had only a handful of followers when the Aurora initially leaked on March 1st.

Handset sales can hardly be deduced from this, but you do have to wonder if this points to fairly decent sales.
