I totaly don't understand why BlackBerry doesn't give us the black hub. It was exciting to wait for it in each new update. Now it's starting to make me furious. Am i the only one???

I think the black theme would look great with the hub as it does for cb but I wouldn't let it annoy me if it never shows

It's weird that they never implemented it. Seems like such an easy thing to do and since 10.3, most native apps offer a light or dark theme. The hub must be coded in a messy way.

Phones with AMOLED screens like the Z30 on BB10 and the Priv/DTEK devices on Android would directly benefit from a dark/black-themed hub as it would help reduce battery drain.

That being said, I'd be great if we got a dark Hub (or even the dark theme in BBM on Android), but regardless I'll still use my phone the way I've always used it and keep on patiently waiting. We BlackBerry users are pros at waiting, anyway. 😉

There will be a Dark Hub...but it'll be available on Android Only devices excluding PRIV, DTEK50, and DTEK60 cause that's how things happen.

Of course they would benefit (though probably not that much) regarding power consumption, but seeing how they released the dark launcher theme a week ago, I'd guess a black Hub theme might be in the making. But I certainly won't let myself be bothered by when and if they will release it.

Besides, there still isn't a large enough amount of other apps that support black themes and no matter how hard you try you won't be able to make the whole experience (or whatever you want to call it) black to better suit your precious AMOLED. I wanted to do it too but I just gave up after a short time and now I turn on the Invert colors option from Quick Settings now and then when I want to admire my very black screen.

I think the amount of energy saved by using a dark theme for the Hub would be negligible, since it isn't displayed constantly like the homescreen itself.

Was trying to be ironic. Saying a dark hub would drop but not for BlackBerry Android devices because BlackBerry has made some poor decisions that's all...meant nothing by it. I have 27 different BlackBerry's in my drawer, lol

Interesting...a black theme for Hub you say? That's a neat idea. I'd never thought of that!

All kidding aside, just a little bit more patience on this front my friends...who knows what a future update could bring...

As a couple others have said. The dark hub is simply a colour change for many people since most devices use LCD screens instead of AMOLED and the back background would not be of any benefit.

Plus, I doubt BlackBerry is going to be adding new features to the OS at this stage. Just security improvements. Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely love the Dark hub but sometimes you have to let things go.

Get a Android BlackBerry and enjoy the 'dark theme' app draw

A black theme reduces battery drain because instead of the entire screen being white (lit pixels) only the text is white.l

Awesome stuff Cody. Looking forward to it. I hope you guys will extend black theme to the core BlackBerry apps too. That was really cool looking.
