As you may know, the official TCL OS reload tool has been "Coming soon" for almost a year now, and the only alternative way to debrick your phone is sending the device in for repair. However, after some scouring of the series of tubes, here is another method: Sugar.

Sugar is an Alcatel OS flash tool, similar to the previous KEYone Mobile Upgrade tool, except it works with any TCL Android device. Privs have to use old-fashioned autoloaders.

First things first, install Sugar QCT (for Qualcomm devices, since TCL also ships Mediatek devices) to your Windows PC:

    https://mega.nz/#!vYk3QSLA!Be9d7uTED...GBSPOLL_eZ0jDA

If you haven't already, install the BlackBerry USB drivers too:

    https://mega.nz/#!rANz1Q7a!wifaN0jac...KM9ZLFDRt0_smo

Once it's installed, you'll need your phone plugged into your Windows PC in bootloader mode (press and hold Power + Volume Down while the device is off), Sugar opened, and these credentials:

    Region: All
    Username: SU_IN.Panasonic
    Password: KoD8naL2
    Dongle authorization: unchecked

Once in, with the phone recognized, set your Product Model in the dropdown on the left. The Product Model is the center section of your device PRD (i.e. PRD-productmodel-xxx). Here's which product models are which:

    • 62980: DTEK50 STH100-1
    • 62981: DTEK50 STH100-2
    • 63036: DTEK60 BBA100-1
    • 63040: DTEK60 BBA100-2
    • 63116: KEYone BBB100-1
    • 63117: KEYone BBB100-2
    • 63118: KEYone BBB100-3
    • 63734: KEYone BBB100-4
    • 63736: KEYone BBB100-5
    • 63763: KEYone BBB100-6
    • 63764: KEYone BBB100-7
    • 63737: Motion BBD100-1
    • 63739: Motion BBD100-2
    • 63742: Motion BBD100-3 (yes, the one that didn't come out)
    • 63753: Motion BBD100-6
    • 63824: KEY2 BBF100-1
    • 63825: KEY2 BBF100-2
    • 63827: KEY2 BBF100-4
    • 63828: KEY2 BBF100-6
    • 63830: KEY2 BBF100-8
    • 63831: KEY2 BBF100-9
    • 65001: KEY2LE BBE100-1
    • 65002: KEY2LE BBE100-2
    • 65003: KEY2LE BBE100-3
    • 65004: KEY2LE BBE100-4
    • 65005: KEY2LE BBE100-5

Then, with the right product model set, click Upgrade. It'll download, decrypt, and flash the latest OS for that given PRD. Like the Mobile Upgrade tool before it, your phone will be wiped, so back up important data beforehand if possible. Should you wish to save the downloaded files, they're somewhere in the Sugar install directory, either as variant-specific loose files for the DTEKs, or more generic autoloader zips for the rest.

I don't recommend changing any of the options in Sugar, and if you change something and your phone ends up bricking beyond Sugar's capability to revive it, then that is on you.

FOR DTEK50/DTEK60 OWNERS, if you want to run Sugar, make sure that the latest OS available for your device is newer or the same as what is already installed. If you end up flashing an older version then you have a very high chance of bricking your phone and requiring a phone call to TCL support. To check what's the latest OS for your PRD, either consult the unofficial web database, or with your phone recognized in Sugar, click "Get Version". If you need help determining if an OS is newer, remember that build numbers are purely sequential (so ABAxxx is newer than AAZxxx is newer than AAYxxx), or consult this list.

now I may be pretty naive here, what would be the point of having this? Would it be to load custom OS builds on your device etc?

It's for reloading the OS if the device stops working or if an OTA update fails.

I used this for my Blackberry Keyone to upgrade the OS although apparently I already had the latest Nougat :P so what it did is just wipe all my apps haha.. I'd suggest you use device transfer to sync with the cloud just in case

It doesn't work with the key2. When I select the prod a picture of a keyone shows up, and it says no software available for this device

Hm, weird. Might be a server error, or 11.5.6 isn't ready for KEY2 just yet.

Here's 11.5.4, see if that works any better: https://mega.nz/#!bM93DYrA!EbaZkVzuS...rEdtU3D3YBweF0

I tried change to prd-63828-001 but failed, mismatch. I am trying to get rid of Chinese junk and have a proper system that works with google apps out of the box. Any autoloader for china model that converts it to global qwerty dualsim rom is greatly appriciated.

    Thank you.
