For a long time the following critical user tracking issue is present on all Android devices up to the Pie version: https://www.zdnet.com/article/androi...user-tracking/ . And Google decided to fix it only in Pie version... ((

I can confirm that it affects DTEK60 and Priv. T_T

Are we gonna get a fix for that? Or will it be considered "not critical enough"?? Or, most likely, will the Google's way be applied - fix it only in Pie???

If it's the latter, what is the ETA of the BBry-flavoured Pie?

You're likely not getting a fix for that. If Google won't even fix it because it'll break things, then no one else is likely going to fix it either. BlackBerry can do hotfixes on things they can control, but if it's that deep and it'll cause issues, they're not going to touch it.

There's also that not critical enough factor there for sure, since it relies on installing an app that is exploiting it and there's lots of things that already tap into your 'real world location' as it is.

The leaked data includes details such as the WiFi network name, WiFi network BSSID, local IP addresses, DNS server information, and the device's MAC address. This type of data might look innocuous, but it can be used to track users online and determine a user's real-world location.

Naturally, all the articles make it sound super terrible but heck, some people give that up real world location info willingly every day via Swarm, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc.

As for Pie on Android BlackBerry devices, even when it does come out, it won't be applicable to anything before the KEY2.. that's the only device confirmed as getting Pie.

It would be a great display of real caring about security by TCL to release Android Pie for all hardware compatible BBry devices... I cannot be a bigger dreamer, can I?
