    Hello,

Starting a thread to discuss the differences between Oreo on the Key1 and 2. I'm testing Oreo on my Bell Key1 now and I've noticed some interesting things.

    1) Password Required to Boot Android:

On the KeyOne, the option still exists to require your password before booting up the OS. On the Key2, it only asks for your password once the OS has already booted.

EDIT: This appears to have been a strange transient because after rebooting the device following the upgrade, the Key1 now boots up the same was as the Key2

    2) Google Maps Location w Google Play Services and Apps disabled

On the KeyOne running Oreo, this still works. However, on the Key2, disabling Google Play Services also prevents your location from appearing in Google Maps. Location still appears in other mapping software however.

    3) System Apps

The Key1 and 2 on Oreo do not share all the same system apps.

    Apps the Key1 has:

    APN Setter Service
    CarrierNotice
    FidoCryptoService
    QMMI (Telemetry?)

    Apps the Key2 has:

    com.android.tct.autoregister (telemetry?)
    com.qualcomm.qti.biometrics.fingerprint.service

    Firefox Focus

    org.codeaurora.bt_wipowersdk.wipower.WipowerApp
    org.codeaurora.bt_wipower
    OTA Access Point Configuration

    QDMA (Telemetry)

    SecCamService
    SeempJService (Telemetry)
    StatManQDMA (Telemetry)

    Support Centre (Telemetry)

    TelecomRecord (Telemetry?)
    TelemetryJService (Telemetry)

    Wallpaper Shuffle

It appears the Key2 has more Qualcomm and TCL telemetry apps installed.

User facing differences here are lack of Support Center, Firefox Focus and Wallpaper Shuffle on the Key1

    4) Can't uninstall BBM Consumer on the Key1.

    5) BB Calculator and BB Clock are not included on the Key1. And now that BB is preventing APK mirror from hosting BB APKs, its going to be challenging to find those apps.

Edit: I tried installing the BB Clock from the Key2 onto the Key1. Doesn't work.

    6) Key2 lost option to use SD Card as internal storage. Key1 still has it.
