I need to create a new APN on my Keyone (CDMA), but the phone does not give me that option, and the APN that is on there is grayed out so that I can't change it. Any suggestions on how to change or create an APN on the Keyone?

Think the carrier locks it. Maybe someone knows something different.

I had the same issue right after I got my phone. Had to take it into the carrier's store and have them set the APN. I think there is a + icon in the upper right corner that you can use to create a new APN or possibly edit one that is already there.

Also worth noting, after they set the APN up I still did not have access to mobile data. When I activated my new phone somehow the data plan was disassociated with the phone. Had to call the carrier's tech support number and have them re-associate the data plan with the phone. Hope this helps.

You cannot edit a preset APN but you can create a new one. Use the "+" button and once you put everything in make sure you hit the three dots and click SAVE (if you just back out it will NOT be saved!) You should then be able to select it.

Verizon phone. There is no + and it doesn't look like anything can be edited except for the name. The rest is grayed out.

This was my problem as well. I couldn't add a new APN or edit the one that was there. After a couple of hours on the phone with tech support, they were able to make some adjustments on their end that got everything working properly.

Back up one level, there should be a "+" in the top right you can select.

If it's not there (it CAN be disabled by the operator when they send down provisioning flags -- AT&T has been known to try to do this) TAKE THE SIM OUT and it will appear. Set it, and it will remain when you put the SIM back in.

This is what I have. Not going to mess with it since I don't have an issue. Seems I heard when the SIM goes back in it will be the same as now.

Oh man, THANK YOU! I've been trying to get this to work on my Key2 and this finally did the trick!

I tried this on my Verizon KeyOne and could not get the “+” to show itself with the SIM out or in. Could the phone be defective?

It is not defective. It's just how it works. I had to fight with mine for AT&T's SIM. You may need to install a SIM card from an MVNO (I ordered one from MintMobile for free). It worked for me.

You can also try installing the SIM into a Verizon-branded phone, then putting it back in your CDMA Unlocked K1.

Turns out my K1 was defective. I was able to exchange it. I put my SIM into the new phone and it works great. Had the right APN settings on initial boot up.

Strange! I had the same issue, but I was able to fix it with my methods lol. Good to know it's working now, and that it is possible to exchange!
