After research and testing, it seems that late model Ford Sync 3 will not recongnize DTek 60 as a device connected via USB.

Anyone tried and succeeded in connecting??

Bluetooth works fine, hands free calling etc. Would be nice to take advantage of Google maps through device.

    Appreciate input.

Have you tried changing the USB input options for when you plug in your device? They should be detected and changeable from the notification pull - down.

    Yes tried all four options.
Even tried changing to Google launcher versus BlackBerry launcher thinking that a blackberry android device is odd to Sync.

I'm stumped on this one. Would be amazing to utilize all Google function on car.

    Found answer.

Called Ford directly and apparently the Android Auto function has not been released yet for download on the Ford Sync system. Thus it can't work.

I have had no issues connecting my DTEK60 yo my Ford Sync 3. Everything works flawlessly.

Did not have to change any setting or anything. Just plugged my cord into the USB port and done.

Interestingly enough. More research uncovered that 2016 Sync 3 released without Android Auto. All 2017 Sync 3 has it.

I found, however, the unofficial update through some Ford forums and downloaded, installed via thumb drive!!!

Now have new Sync 3 maps, update software and ANDROID AUTO!!!!

Got to love the internet.......always an answer ;-)
