I have been having really slow download speeds on certain apps including crackberry, 9gag (expecially gif loading) and even instagram and browsing.

Its weird because I have a 300 maps connection on my router is not far away from my phone.

When on LTE or 4G everything is fine and fast.

Just today I came by a miracle fix.

Go to settings>location>top right overflow>turn off wifi scanning.

I also cleared crackberry's app cache.

    Suddenly everything is fast.

Why? I have no idea but I hope this helps somebody.

Turn off not just wifi scanning, but bluetooth scanning also. If on, (factory default is on) the radios are constantly scanning all possible frequencies to see if something is there. So your radios can only use part of the cycles for data.
Maybe not the best technical explanation, but it gets the point across.

Seems I was having same problem. At least now, after I turned off mentioned options, my WiFi speed is stable and fast.
