    I don't get it - I was under the impression that you don't have to/can't clear cache on Oreo.

    Now in Settings/Apps one can clear cache on each app, partly 100s of MB (like pinterest).

    I was under the impression that Oreo "does that for you"?

    Oreo uses a different memory management system than Nougat. A single app cannot run away with its cache, and is kept under control.
