Setting up new KEYone. New media card, formated in device. When going into camera settings I'm not able to select save photos, videos to media card.
    Anybody run into this?

Are you using the card as portable or adopted storage?

Pardon my ignorance. How to do I know. If I look at the card under storage, it gives me the option to format as portable.

If it's giving you the option to format as portable, then I assume it is currently adopted.

Since the card is adopted, your photos ARE being save to the SD card regardless of what the camera App says.
Practically everything will be saved to the card whether you want it to be or not.

Nope. The photos I took can only be found in the internal camera storage folder. Nothing on the SD card.

What method are you using to view your folders?

You may want to do some research about adoptable storage.
Likely the files you think are on internal are actually being stored on the SD card.

With Adoptable Storage the SD card becomes an extension of Internal Memory. Unless you have a specific reason to use Adoptable Storage, you are probably better off with Portable Storage which keeps your SD card separate from internal memory.

I suggest you use a file manager like Solid Explorer (similar to BB10) or ASUS File Manager to manage your files and storage locations.

If you go into Settings -> Storage and then click on your SD card, go into the options by clicking the three dots at the top, and do you something about migrating the card? If so, click that.

Thanks all. Sorted this out. Now I know the difference between adoptable and portable.
Just set up my wife's KEYone with a new card and chose portable instead of internal at the prompt. All is well. Photos default save now to the sd card.

So what is the file structure on the card after portable formatting? Once the camera is activated, does it create its own folder? I am asking because I put my sd card from my Q10 into the K1. I am not sure if I can just leave it as is.
