Blackberry Android without monthly security update or Android One which still get monthly update and why?

100% Android One... Especially if you are talking about a newer device running Android 10 or that will get Android 11. As each version of Android has it's own security improvements beyond just patches. BB Android is about to be three versions behind.

The biggest advantage BB Android would have is you can't root it. But undetectable rooting isn't really much of a worry.

No contest. Patched Android 10/11 with Android One 100-to-1 over unpatched BlackBerry Oreo.

Regular Android is fully encrypted too.

Again, 99.9% of threats are OS-level hacks where patches are critical.

Android has been encrypted since Android 5....

While encrypting the SD Card would protect that data from someone that found or stole your phone... anyone that used a vulnerability to gain access to your phone, would have the system access to that encrypted data card.

For the purpose of leaving BlackBerry Android ultimately because of the lack of ongoing BlackBerry Android OS patches, would you recommend Apple or Android as more secure as a replacement ecosystem? Or are they about the same overall? Thanks.

Depends what you define as security.

If you're referring to resilient software, then I would say as long as you're on a supported device that gets constant updates, you're good to go.

As long as both are fully patched... I think either is fine.

If you like simple and longer support... Apple fits the bill.

If you like customizing and tweaking... Android might be the better option.
